Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor has entertained the audience for the past four decades. Despite belonging to a film family and being the son of renowned producer Surinder Kapoor, he made a name for himself as an actor after facing many hardships. He has now opened up about the same during an interview with Mid-Day. He recalled how his father had made it clear that he had to pave his own way in the industry without any assistance.

Talking to the media publication, the 66-year-old actor opened up about his challenging journey in the Hindi film industry despite being a star kid. Recalling his late father, the actor described him as an honest, decent, and introverted individual. He went on to clarify that his father, who passed away in 2011, wasn’t the stereotypical filmy or aggressive figure that is commonly associated with the industry. He had went on to reveal how his father had told him that he wouldn’t be helping the actor advance in his career. Interestingly, even Kapoor didn’t have any such expectations. However, this also led to the Animal actor venturing into the entertainment industry on his own and realising that he would be facing the challenges independently. His journey to become a successful actor wasn’t easy. It slowly started taking a toll on him and he preferred sitting with his friends and drinking rum. Quoted by Pinkvilla, he said, “It was exhausting, it was tiring, frustrating. I looked worse, I felt worse. I used to sit with my friends and have Rum. He went on to add that the frustration and the bitterness, he felt during the initial phase of his career, he channeled it into his work. Movies like Awaragi and Mashaal became his outlets for expressing his suppressed emotions. 

On the work front, Anil Kapoor was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. The movie also starred Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, Bobby Deol, and many others in pivotal roles. He will be next seen in YRF’s Fighter, co-starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. He will be essaying the role of Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh aka Rocky. The movie will be released on January 25, 2024, on the big screens.
