The movie Nyay: The Justice, which is purportedly based on the life of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has been grinding in the legal battle for a while now. SSR’s father Krishna Kishore Singh had filed a plea against the movie and even sought a stay on its release on any other OTT platforms and in cinema halls. However, the matter escalated when Delhi High Court declined to stay the release. Amidst the battle, the latest report suggests that the court has now told both parties to talk to each other and find a solution to resolve their dispute.

“Talk to each other and see if it can be worked out,” said Justice Talwant Singh, as reported by Indian Express. “Independent of the proceedings, we will try to resolve,” said senior advocate Jayant Mehta, representing Kishore Singh. Senior advocate Chander Lall who is representing the film director also agreed to the suggestion and claimed there was “no intention to take advantage”. The reports further stated the court has granted a week’s time to the filmmakers to respond to Kishore Singh’s earlier application where he was seeking a stay on the film.

SSR’s father’s lawyer Mehta remarked that the actors of the film have said the film is based on the late actor’s life during media interactions. He further stated that putting a disclaimer at the start of the film does not add any value or is insufficient. “Inspired is a convenient stand. It is not correct,” Mehta was quoted by the portal.

Last month, after Delhi High Court declined to stay the release of the film, Rajput’s sister Priyanka Singh took to her Twitter handle and informed everyone that a notice has been issued with the help of advocate Harish Salve.
