Bollywood actress Nushrratt Bharuccha’s family and admirers breathed a sigh of relief as she reached India safely on Sunday after the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas attacked Israel. She was visiting the country to attend their HAIFA International Film Festival, where her movie Akelli was screened. Now, days after her return, she has opened up about the entire ordeal through a video and a post.
Taking to Instagram, she shared a video to explain that she is fine and has safely returned home. She went on to express her gratitude towards her fans, friends and family who prayed for her well-being and safety. The 38-year-old actress also thanked the government of India and the Israeli embassy for helping her reach home. She went on to recall how she had woken up in her hotel room in Israel to the deafening sounds of bombs going off and sirens blaring. She went on to recall her horrific experiences through a statement on her Instagram post. A part of her statement read, “As someone who has barely escaped a war zone, I cannot be more grateful today...I'm back home and safe with my family and my loved ones. But with an experience that has made me immensely grateful for the safety and security that we almost take for granted. I am ever so grateful to Government of India, the Indian Embassy and the Israeli Embassy, for their help and guidance in bringing my team and me back safe." The situation in Israel has left the world speechless as the visuals for people from Hamas, Palestinian militant group, attacking the people of Israel are going viral on social media. As per various media reports, the organisation has been kidnapping women and taking them to Gaza. The Prime Minister of Israel has vowed to destroy the organisation’s hideouts in Gaza.
On the work front, she was last seen in Akelli where she essayed the role of an ‘ordinary Indian girl’ that has to battle for her life, while stuck in a combat zone. Directed by debutant Pranay Meshram, the movie also starred Tsahi Halevi and Amir Boutrous in pivotal roles. She will next be seen in the sequel of her horror movie Chhorii. The movie is directed by Vishal Furia and follows the journey of Sakshi, forced to move out from her home along with her husband, seeking refuge in a remote town where she experiences supernatural events that threaten her life. It was being reported that the sequel will pick-up where the first installment ended.
