Some days back, Salman Khan had unveiled the official trailer of his forthcoming production venture, Notebook. It introduces yesteryear actress Nutan’s granddaughter Pranutan Bahl and Zaheer Iqbal. The trailer depicted the unique love story between Firdaus and Kabir, who haven’t even met each other. Now, the makers have dropped the first song and it’s called Nai Lagda.

The song is a soulful ballad sung by Vishal Mishra and Asees Kaur. The lyrics are penned by Akshay Tripathi. The song portrays the unconventional love story of Firdaus and Kabir who have never met, but cannot stop thinking of each other. Firdaus aka Pranutan Bahl plays a school teacher, but she chooses marriage over her profession. Kabir aka Zaheer Iqbal is brought in as her replacement. He discovers a notebook of Firdaus and through her writings, falls in love with her. When he learns of her marriage, he confesses his feelings to her, and that leaves Firdaus too desiring for him.

The song perfectly captures the emotions of the lead protagonists who come across as promising debutantes. Notebook, directed by Nitin Kakkar will be releasing on March 29, 2019.
