The remake of the 1982 classic Satte Pe Satta continues making headlines for its star-cast. Farah Khan who is back to don the director's hat for this project was reportedly in talks with Shah Rukh Khan, who was her first choice for the role of Amitabh Bachchan in the film. Hrithik Roshan's name also appeared in the casting race, however, the actor did not give an official comment. Therefore, the speculation continued.
While news of
SRK stepping into the shoes of Big B for the remake had been there since quite a long time, SpotboyE.com had in fact broken the story that King Khan had refused Farah Khan back then in 2014. However, the tabloid stated that Farah has gone back to SRK and this would be his big film after Zero. Earlier, he was supposed to do the Siddharth Roy Kapur produced film,
the Rakesh Sharma biopic but he walked out of it. Then, there were reports that he will be doing Don 3, but that hasn't materialised so far.
We would have been excited to see SRK no doubt, reprising Amitabh Bachchan's role, but we now have it from our top sources that it is Hrithik only for Farah Khan's remake of Satte Pe Satta. We are told that there will soon be an official announcement soon. Can't wait for that one.
The original Satte Pe Satta starred Amitabh Bachchan in a double role along with Hema Malini, Shakti Kapoor, Amjad Khan, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Asha Sachdev, Goga Kapoor, Madhu Malhotra and Ranjeet in pivotal roles. It was one of the most-successful multi-starrer movies from the 1980s.
