You may recall that the film ran into a legal controversy after the famous shoe manufacturer Bata sued the makers of the film- Fox Star Studios, directors Deepak Jacob, Amit Shah and Subhash Kapoor, actors Annu Kapoor and Akshay Kumar for projecting the brand in a demeaning manner in the film’s trailer.
And now SpotboyE.com has it that before the film reached the Censor Board’s table, the scene where Annu Kapoor humiliates Akshay by saying that the latter wears Bata shoes was already chopped by the makers. It’s the scene in the trailer where Akshay feels humiliated and slaps Annu Kapoor as a reaction to his statement.

Not just this, a lot of news portals reported that Akshay’s legal drama has been passed without any cuts. But SpotboyE.com hears that the Board has not only asked the makers to tone down the ‘Based On A True Story’ fact in the film but has also given small omissions/changes which are as follows:
1. The makers of Jolly LLB 2 have been asked to blur the word Lucknow in the Holi song
2. Replace the word ‘Lucknow’ with ‘Local’ in following dialogues:

-‘Lucknow Kachahri Mein Koi Cheez Time Pe Hui’
-‘Bahar Lucknow Ke Lawyer Mujhe Kya Bulaate’
3. Replace the word Lucknow with ‘Awadh’ in the dialogue, ‘Yeh Delhi Nahi Lucknow Hai’
Although the changes are not that big, still we’re sure BATA is relived with the final cut of the film.
