Bollywood director Nishikant Kamat is no more; the news has once again got the industry mourning. He passed away at the age of 50 today at AIG hospitals in Hyderabad. The news was confirmed by the filmmaker’s friend-actor Ritesh Deshmukh on his Twitter account a while back while the hospital authorities too released an official statement. Filmmaker Anees Bazmee in conversation with ETimes expressed being sad to hear this news and also spoke about the late filmmaker and their meets in the past. He also mentioned that the late filmmaker was a down to earth person.
 
Anees Bazmee said, “I am really saddened to hear about Nishikant. He was a good friend and a very down to earth man! We met several times in my office and chatted long about cinema and scripts. I pray may his soul rest in peace and may God bless the family with immense strength to overcome this heartbreaking time.” Today morning when the news of the filmmaker passing away had hit the internet, the hospital had released a statement mentioning the filmmaker being critical and on life support.
 
Now the hospital in their latest statement has mentioned the filmmaker passing away at 4:24 pm. He was admitted to AIG hospital after he was detected with jaundice and abdominal distention, followed by which he was detected with Chronic Liver Disease and some secondary infections as well.
