After Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Wajid Khan, Saroj Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput and many others, Drishyam director Nishikant Kamat passed away, yesterday evening. SpotboyE exclusively revealed the filmmaker was admitted after he was diagnosed with jaundice and abdominal distention. Nishikant Kamat is popularly known for his films like Madaari, Mumbai Meri Jaan, among several others. Kamat was admitted to ICU of AIG Hospitals in Hyderabad for cirrhosis of liver and suffered a relapse. Now Irrfan Khan, who has worked with Kamat in Mumbai Meri Jaan and Madaari, wife Sutapa Sikdar recently expressed grief over his demise. After battling with cancer for 2 years, Irrfan Khan breathed his last on April 29, 2020.

Remembering Nishikant Kamat, Irrfan’s wife Sutapa told Times Of India, Madaari’ will always be remembered by me not only because it's my first film as a producer but it being a project which we connected personally. Ironically two common men who shone because of their talent, made a film about a common man setting yourself do an extraordinary deed. Nishi will be in my heart always for his straightforwardness for his hardwork and warmth... He had a simplicity of a rooted man. I will always remember him.”

Further calling 2020 a horrendous year, she added, “It's been a horrendous year globally, personally, and I am yet to come in terms with Irrfan's flying away from us. I am still hiding away celebrating him alone.”

Yesterday, Irrfan’s son Babil shared a picture of the filmmaker and paid tribute to Nishikamat. He wrote, “...then there were those that chose to speak of change through cinema rather than words. I didn’t want to believe it. Bindas bhai Nishi sir, thank you. I don’t know how to articulate anymore, I’m sorry. Here’s to you.” (ALSO READ: Nishikant Kamat Passes Away At 50: Filmmaker Anees Bazmee Remembers Him And Says, ‘Good Friend And A Very Down To Earth Man’)
