Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra created history by becoming the first track and field Indian athlete to bag a gold medal at the Olympics. He won gold in javelin throw at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Since Chopra’s victory, social media has been filled with congratulatory messages. Many can’t stop singing praises of the champion. Even memes have surfaced on the internet, including ones surrounding discussions of a possible biopic on the star athlete - since Bollywood is so fond of making biopics. And there's one name that tops the list of actors who people want to play Neeraj on screen - Akshay Kumar.
A post on Facebook is also making rounds on the internet where the user posted a hilarious script for a possible biopic featuring Akshay Kumar. The script also has actress Kiara Advani, playing Chopra’s love interest - because what's a Hindi movie without some romance.
The social media user mentioned “Here is the Neeraj Chopra biopic”. The script starts with: “The opening scene is a small village in Haryana, some guys are playing cricket, and the batsman hits a big six. The ball goes into a nearby field. A little boy is working in the fields with his father. The boys who are playing say ‘ Oye Chhotu ball dena’ Little boy picks up ball and is about to throw, the cricket playing boys say,. don’t throw, it will never reach us. However, little kid throws the ball, not only does it reach it hits the middle stump and everyone is stunned."
“Gajraj Rao who is an athletics coach was passing by and is stunned to see this. He follows the kid around and sees the kid has an outstanding throwing arm and great aim (scenes of kid hitting mangoes on tree, throwing bricks to his father) Gajraj is convinced that this kid is special and asks him to join his academy. The kid says he is too poor, doesn’t have money for shoes etc, plus he has to work to help his father," it adds. Talking about Kiara Advani’s part in the biopic, the script reads, “Now, years later, the kid is grown up and he is Akshay Kumar. He is national level javelin thrower, plus has a job in the Army. He wins every national competition. One day he is outside his cantonment with some friends. He spots some goons outraging the modesty of Kiara Advani. Suddenly, the goons have javelins being hurled at them, they run away. Girl is grateful, but before she can say thank you, Akshay leaves as he has practice."
The script shared was in a post made by a Facebook user by the name ‘Maurya Mondal’. The user made the post on Monday. And, it has gone viral since. Reacting to the post, many offered suggestions, while some appreciated the user’s hard work.
Meanwhile, actor Akshay Kumar even reacted to speculations about him playing Neeraj Chopra’s role in the biopic on the gold medallist. “He is a very good looking guy. If anyone can do my biopic it is Neeraj Chopra,” said Akshay, who certainly has his way with words.
While Neeraj has become a star in the country, not many are aware, the athlete follows only two Bollywood actors on Instagram, one of who is Akshay Kumar. Ahem!
