Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi were blessed with an angelic baby Mehr Dhupia Bedi in 2018. The two have been quite private about their daughter’s life, in fact, Neha and Angad both post very limited photos on their social media handles. When she arrived into the world, Neha used to only treat us with Mehr photos where her face is not visible to us. However, the little toddler has already turned a year old and is about to speak now. Interesting fact, Neha is not teaching her how to speak ‘mama’ and ‘dada’ as her daughter’s first word and that is ‘bas.’ That’s right, the first word Neha Dhupia taught her daughter Mehr was ' bas' as she thinks that Mehr should know when to say enough. In the latest interview with Bombay Times, she said that in some instances she has started saying ‘bas’ as she knows how to say no.

Neha was quoted saying, "The first word I taught her was ' bas'. She should know when to say enough. If the food being fed is too much she says 'bas', if she is being forced to do anything or if somebody is pulling her cheeks more than she would like, she knows that she has to say 'bas'. She knows how to say no. Strong women raise strong daughters and I always tell my daughter that if she is not comfortable, she should just say it. The other day she was playing and somebody tickled her and she said 'bas, bas'.”

She was further quoted by the portal, saying, “So she knows when she has to say no, and she would apply it for the rest of her life now. A lot of parents (and I respect them) have huge aspirations about which institution their child should go to or what their children should do. As a mum, I feel that I want to raise my daughter believing that she has a voice and she should know how to exercise the power of that voice."
