Looks like the time is not right for Nawazuddin Siddiqui at the moment.
What could be more disturbing for an actor than being told to not perform on a stage few hours prior to the final show?
That’s exactly what happened with Nawazuddin at his hometown Budhana where he is currently vacationing.
The actor was supposed to perform at the town’s Ramleela programme where he was to play the character of Maarich, a rakshasa(demon)- a demon who wanted to be killed by the arrows of Ram.
BTW this was Nawazuddin’s childhood dream which got shattered as Shiv Sena butted in.
The activists from the party approached the organizers and expressed their displeasure over Nawazuddin’s participation in the Ramleela citing that over the years no Muslim has been a part of Ramleela.
Realizing that the situation might get out of the hand if Nawazuddin appears in the Ramleela, the organizer informed Nawaz that they can’t go ahead with show featuring him.
Around 2000 people had gathered to get a glimpse of their town’s hero on the stage. However they left disappointed.
As far is Nawazuddin is concerned, he has not lost hope. Taking to his Twitter account, Nawazuddin promised his fans that he will return next year.
He wrote, "My childhood dream could not come true, but will definitely be a part of Ramleela next year. Check the rehearsals,"

Not commenting on the people who didn’t want Nawazuddin to appear on the stage, he just said that he had to cancel his appearance to 'maintain peace' in the village.
Talking to a news channel, Nawazuddin said, "There were some technical issues. I got the order that I should not do it as it was important to maintain peace in the village,"
