Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul continue to face music for their objectionable comments on Koffee With Karan 6. Amidst numerous consequences, comes a sarcastic tweet from Mumbai Police. They shared a picture of a cricket ground writings on which read, “How to be a great player? On field – maximum runs, off field – maximum respect for women.” This post is captioned, “A ‘Gentleman’ Is A Gentleman always and everywhere.”

This morning, it was reported that Mumbai's Khar Gymkhana has cancelled Pandya's Honorary membership. “We gave him the honorary membership, which we give to sportspersons of national level, because he was doing some rehab in our neighbourhood. In the wake of this controversy — we’ve a social media handle where we have around 4,000 members on Facebook — there was a huge outcry and a lot of members, especially a lot of women members, were upset and felt that the club should take some step. So, we had a managing committee meeting today (Monday) evening, in which we unanimously decided that we’re revoking his honorary membership." Khar Gymkhana joint secretary Gaurav Kapadia told Times Of India. This step comes days after, the cricketer lost out on a brand endorsement owing to his sexist remarks.
The controversy began when Hardik and KL Rahul appeared on Koffee With Karan 6 and their misogynistic and creepy comments invited severe backlash. Realising the gravity of the situation, the former apologised. However, soon after, BCCI issued show cause notices to Hardik-KL Rahul and asked for an explanation within 24 hours. Unconvinced, CoA Chief Vinod Rai suggested a 2-ODI ban on cricketers. They duo was then suspended, pending inquiry. Days later, the two cricketers were replaced with Vijay Shankar and Shubhman Gill.
