The Mumbai Police Special Branch is probing a complaint against All India Bakchod’s (AIB) Tanmay Bhat, after the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) launched a complaint against him.
The complaint comes in the wake of a ‘funny’ video posted by Tanmay (AIB’s Tanmay Bhat insults Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar?, May 28), which featured a mock conversation between cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar and legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. The video was titled Civil War, which was a take off from the recent Hollywood blockbuster, Captain America: Civil War.
While Sachin and Lata haven't had any responses to it yet, members of MNS are threatening to beat up Tanmay for trying to disrepute two Bharat Ratna receipients.
People across the nation have been arguing about the fact whether Tanmay was right or wrong at making the funny video. Tanmay's supports say that everyone has the freedom of speech in India, and that celebrities shouldn't be given that much of an importance. People who are against him are of the opinion that you should not joke about people who are so senior and dignified in their personal lives.
