Ever since India's hopes at winning at ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 came crashing, news of an alleged rift between the team started making headlines. Names of the cricketers that made headlines were Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Reportedly, the duo, who had turned heads with their partnership in different matches during World Cup, are now making headlines for their alleged disagreements and arguments in the dressing room. But now looks like their ‘reported’ rift has turned ugly now.
A report in Mumbai Mirror suggests that batsman Rohit Sharma, who had already unfollowed Virat Kohli on Instagram, has now done the same for cricket captain’s wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma. Yes, that’s right! Reportedly, Sharma unfollowed Mrs Kohli, long after he unfollowed Virat. While scrolling through his following list, names the skipper and the actress don’t show up. On the other hand, Virat still seems to be following Rohit and his wife.
Mirror report also suggests, “The problem between the two best batsmen started some years ago when Rohit and his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan left the management company that Virat is associated with. At the World Cup in London, everything appeared hunky-dory until the Indian team’s abrupt exit after the semis.”
Earlier, when the rumours of the cracks in their friendship
hit the web, India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun has decided to clear some airs.
He had told Sportstar, “It's not that we agree on everything. We have our
arguments and discussions on various aspects like the composition of the team
and the strategy. Everyone voices his opinion. But at the end of the day, the
other person's view is respected and a collective decision is taken.”
