Mithun Chakraborty Discharged From The Hospital; Veteran Actor Reveals He Was ‘Punished’ For Eating Like A ‘Demon’

Veteran actor-turned-politician Mithun Chakraborty was rushed to a hospital in Kolkata on Saturday. As reported by various media portals he suffered a stroke and was undergoing treatment for the same. On Monday, he was discharged from the hospital. Now he has opened up about the entire ordeal and even suggested his admirers to take care of their diet. The veteran even recalled how Prime Minister Narendra Modi called to scold him for not taking care of himself once his condition was stable. 

Well, during his interview with the news agency PTI, the 73-year-old actor revealed that PM Modi scolded him for “not taking care of his health.” He went on to share an update on his health and stated that he is “absolutely fine.” Chakraborty revealed that he just has to keep control of his food habits. Shedding light on his work commitments, he stated that he may just start working as soon as possible. In an interview with another news agency IANS, he elaborated on his food habits prior to his health scare and even asked his admirers to keep control of their diet. As quoted by ABP News, he stated, “I eat like a demon. So I was punished. My advice for everyone is control your diet. Those who are diabetic should not have the misconception that consuming sweets will not make any difference. For the unversed, Mithun was recently honoured with Padma Bhushan Award, the third-highest civilian award in the country. Having worked extensively in the Indian entertainment industry, he expressed his gratitude for receiving the award through a video message. Having established himself as a versatile actor in recent years, Mithun Chakraborty went on to join the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) in 2021, just ahead of the  West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections the same year.
