Veteran actor-turned-politician Mithun Chakraborty’s recent health scare left his fans in shock. On Saturday afternoon, it was heavily reported that he was rushed to the Apollo Hospital in Kolkata after experiencing chest pain. If media reports are to be believed, he was diagnosed with an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke) of the brain. Reportedly, the hospital released an official statement regarding the same. Now, his daughter-in-law Madalsa Sharma, and son Mimoh Chakraborty have issued a clarification regarding his hospitalisation. 

The couple proceeded to slam the media reports and stated that the 73-year-old actor had been hospitalised for a routine check-up. Talking about the same, the Anupamaa fame actress told Telly Chakkar, “It was just a routine check-up, who is spreading these rumours?” Her interview came after her husband, stated that his father is a “hundred percent fine.” He told Times Now News that Chakraborty was admitted to the hospital for a “routine sugar-level-check up.” ALSO READ: JUST IN: Mithun Chakraborty Rushed To Hospital In Kolkata After Complaining Of Chest Pain - Reports


Well, according to a report by NDTV, the Disco Dancer actor was rushed to the hospital after he complained of weakness in his right upper and lower limbs. As per the official statement, he was brought to the Emergency Department of Apollo Multispeciality Hospitals, Kolkata at around 9:40 am on Saturday, February 10. The statement further read, “Presently, he is fully conscious, well-oriented and has consumed soft diet. Having established himself as a versatile actor in recent years, Mithun Chakraborty went on to join the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) in 2021, just ahead of the  West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections the same year.
