Bollywood actress Minissha Lamba, who has starred in several films such as Bachna Ae Haseeno and Bheja Fry 2, Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd, has opened up about her divorce in a recent interview. The actress, who tied the knot with Ryan Tham in 2015, filed for separation 5 years later. Last year, she announced the finalisation of their divorce proceedings. Now, in a recent interview, Minissha talked about divorce, and said that times have changed, and people have understood that they have the right to walk out of a toxic relationship or marriage.

While speaking with Navbharat Times, Minissha Lamba said that people have the right to live happily, and that while earlier divorce was looked down upon, now things have changed as women are self- dependent and are voicing their opinions. “Earlier, only women were responsible to bear the burden of a relationship. They had the sole responsibility for all the sacrifices (required). But now, they have understood that they have the right to walk out if they are not happy in the marriage,” she said.

She added that it is unfortunate that women are recognized by their relationships and marital status, however, she is happy to see things are gradually changing. “Divorce is not easy but when the relationship is toxic, walking out is the right option. I would like to add that relationship or marriage can be an important part of your life but it cannot be your complete life,” said Minissha.

In August last year, Minissha Lamba had said in an ETimes interview, “Ryan and I have parted ways amicably. The legal separation has been done.” ALSO READ: Minissha Lamba Opens Up On Her Initial Days In Bollywood, Says, ‘No One Wanted To Manage Me’
