Whenever one talks about actor Milind Soman, we automatically think of his fitness obsession and his workout regime. However, believe it or not, there was a time when he used to smoke like a chimney. That’s right. On World No Tobacco Day, Milind recalled the stupidest thing he has ever done and that was smoke. He recollected the time when he used to smoke 20-30 cigarettes a day on the sets of Captain Vyom and got addicted to it quickly. Spreading the message of avoiding smoking on Instagram, Milind shared a boomerang video of himself where he is seen breaking a cigarette.
"The tobacco epidemic is one of the biggest public health threats the world has ever faced, killing more than 8 million people a year around the world,” he started the video caption. Milind then went a trip down memory lane and said, “World Health Organization. . . . Every 31st of May, World No Tobacco Day, is a celebration for me, and also a reminder of the stupidest thing I ever did - smoke!!” The Bajirao Mastani actor then talked about his story, saying, “I started smoking at the age of 32, on the sets of Captain Vyom, a sci-fi TV series i was shooting at the time. There was no reason to start, just hanging out with people who smoked, trying it out and getting hooked. I got addicted really quickly and was soon smoking 20-30 cigarettes a day.”
Soman even mentioned it was a little cynical to stop initially but he considers himself fortunate to stop because of the other good habits. “Was tough to stop and took me a long, long time, but I was fortunate that I could. . . . I think i got off lightly. Probably because a lot of other good habits. Many are not so lucky. . . . #habits #health,” he concluded.
