Mika Singh, known for his hit songs like Jumme Ki Raat and Aankh Maare was invited to perform at the wedding festivities along with a crew of 14 people. His performance came right after Indian government repealed Article 370, which revoked the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir. Post which Pakistan banned Indian films and cultural content. Amid the mounting tensions, Mika’s decision to perform at the wedding in Pakistan evoked a lot of outrage by his fans and they took to Twitter to express their feelings. Certain reports suggest that the pop singer charged 15000 USD (Rs. 1.06 crore approx) for the performance.
