Beaming from ear to ear, thanks to the success Padmaavat,
Shahid Kapoor has reached Uttarakhand, where Batti Gul Meter Chalu will be
shot.
Prernaa couldn’t be happier! With the release of Pad Man and the shoot of Batti
Gul coinciding, it’s like delivering a baby and conceiving another one, all at
once. It’s exhilarating!

And by the way, with Pad Man, Prernaa who helms KriArj Entertainment with Arjun
N Kapoor, is on her way to a hat trick. Her earlier films with Kumar – Toilet:
Ek Prem Katha and Rustom – have been box-office wonders.
She has made strong inroads into a male dominated industry, and mind you it's
not easy for a woman to manoeuvre her way through...

Coming back to Batti Gul, while Shahid has already reached Uttarakhand, Yami
Gautam will roll her first sequence in March.
For now, Yami, who plays a lawyer and takes on Shahid’s character in the film
is in the midst of doing some serious preps for Batti Gul. She will interact
with lawyers in small towns and visit Tehsil Courts, to get a hang of the court
jargon and a lawyer’s body language.
“In order to put up a tough fight against Shahid, Yami will invest 45
days in understanding how lawyers work and study their mannerisms,” a source
tells Mid-Day.
Shahid Kapoor Looks Dapper
While Shahid was the first actor to come on-board for Batti Gul, followed by
Shraddha Kapoor, Yami is a comparatively recent addition to the
cast. An addition that Batti Gul’s co-producer T-Series’ Divya Khosla, was
not happy about.
But things have worked out for the best and as we speak, it’s Lights, Camera,
Action for the social drama based on electricity theft in small towns.
