Friendships in Bollywood are a common thing, so much that, if required, our stars don’t hesitate in postponing their movies for their buddies. One such recent case is that of John Abraham, who has pushed the release date of his upcoming multi-starrer comedy – Pagalpanti – to avoid the clash with that of Sidharth Malhotra’s Marjaavaan. This kind gesture by John Abraham was done due to his old friendship with Milap Zaveri and Nikkhil Advani, who happen to be the producer and director of Marjaavaan.
Earlier, the Sidharth Malhotra film was scheduled to release on November 22 with Pagalpanti, however, Milap wanted a solo release and he confronted John about the same. And the Batla House actor, in no time, decided to move Pagalpant to make way for Marjaavaan. In fact, Milap revealed how he showed the trailer of his revenge-drama film to John and he was mighty impressed. Taking to his Instagram, Sidharth Malhotra announced his film’s new release date by sharing its latest poster. Check it out below:
John Abraham, in his statement, said, “Marjaavaan will benefit from a solo window and Bhushan agreed with me. Milap is a grounded boy and wonderful writer while Nikkhil is a good, solid man for whom friendship is non-negotiable. I have worked with directors who have moved on, but Nikkhil understands loyalty and will work with you irrespective of how a film fares. It’s important for all of us that Marjaavaan sets the box office on fire.”
Producer Nikkhil Advani expressed his gratitude towards John saying, "Extremely grateful to John, Kumarji and the whole team of Pagalpanti for being so accommodating and allowing us the opportunity to give Marjaavaan the springboard that it deserves. Milap and his team have done a superb job bringing this emotional love story to life and I’m sure that with this added advantage of clean release date the audiences will be in for the treat that is expected from the Riteish-Sidharth clash and Milap’s staple dialoguebaazi combined with masala maar dhaad.”
Meanwhile, Marjaavaan also stars Tara Sutaria and Riteish Deshmukh in pivotal roles.
