Now, in a recent interview with Mumbai Mirror, director Milap Zaveri has revealed some unknown details about Marjaavaan.

Milap Zaveri revealed a few interesting details about Sidharth Malhotra’s Marjaavaan, one of which being that the film derives its inspiration from an Amitabh Bachchan film that got shelved. He told Mumbai Mirror, “Years ago, Subhash Ghai started a film called Devaa with Amit ji (Amitabh Bachchan) as the hero, and Mr Lilliput as the villain. The project didn't materialise but that idea stayed with me. The anti-thesis is to make a larger-than-life guy short in stature." The filmmaker also revealed detailsa bout Sidharth Malhotra’s character Raghu in the film and says, “Sid’s character is modeled on the lines of Amitabh Bachchan in Deewar, Sunny Deol in Jeet and Jackie Shroff in Hero. Raghu is a rugged intense guy who walks around with a match-stick in his mouth and spouts some smart one-liners.” He also mentioned that the character is a homage to Amitabh Bachchan’s character Vijay in Deewar.

A still from Marjaavaan

Marjaavaan will star Sidharth Malhotra, Tara Sutaria and Riteish Deshmukh and the film will now release on November 8 and will enjoy a solo release with a couple of partial holidays during the week.
