Rani Mukerji starrer Mardaani 2 is one of the most awaited upcoming films and the trailer for the same released last month. The hard-hitting trailer was met with a lot of praise especially for Rani Mukerji’s stellar performance and its intense content. However, back then, a certain section of people was not happy with it and protested against the film saying that it shows the city of Kota in a bad light. The protestors wanted the makers to remove the word ‘Kota’ from the film.

While Netizens had been objecting to the portrayal of Kota as an unsafe place, now the film has landed in trouble once again as a petition has reportedly been filed by a Kota resident Taslim Ahmed. He reportedly filed a petition in Rajasthan High Court against Rani Mukerji’s cop thriller, challenging the release of the film. He objected to the content shown in the trailer and alleged that it could tarnish the image of Kota city, thereby asking for a ban on the film’s release. Mardaani 2 starring Rani Mukerji is inspired by true crimes against women by juveniles. The cop thriller will see Rani in a chase to capture a brutal serial rapist who systematically targets women. Rani plays the role of the fearless Superintendent of Police, Shivani Shivaji Roy in the film. Rani is now organizing a special screening for the police officers even before she shows the film to her Bollywood friends.




Mardaani 2, produced by Aditya Chopra, will be Rani Mukerji’s next release after Hichki and it is set to hit theatres on December 13, 2020.
