Now, after Nikkhil Advani tweeted about increasing child marriages amid Coronavirus pandemic, and girls being sold for families to survive, Manoj Bajpayee spoke up against child trafficking and said that it is a blot on society.

Apart from the threat that Coronavirus pandemic already poses, there are other underlying issues that often aren’t very obvious and do not make the headlines. Amid the pandemic, there has been a reported surge in domestic violence, child abuse, among other issues. Filmmaker and producer Nikkhil Advani pointed out one such social evil- child trafficking. He tweeted about the increasing number of child marriages as girls are being sold for families to survive. He wrote, “Just to put it in perspective. A very credible source tells me “the number of child marriages have increased as #COVID19 gets tackled..” What’s the connection? GIRLS ARE BEING SOLD FOR FAMILIES TO SURVIVE. #ChildTrafficking.”

Manoj Bajpayee replied to this tweet, and wrote, “Child trafficking not only a menace but it is also a blot on the society.we as a society should put all our will and force in place to stop it immediately.”


Manoj Bajpayee’s fans thanked him for talking about it. While one user wrote, “Good to see when some minds speak such things and it is more satisfactory when some work towards it. Hope our gen brings some change and hope #COVID19 instigates all minds to look beyond themselves,” another one wrote, “Thank u sir for talking about it. Raise the voice actually matters no matter what profession you are in.”
