Manoj Bajpayee is undoubtedly among the most talented actors in the film industry, and he has starred in many critically acclaimed films. He recently won big at the 67th National Film Award, having bagged the award for the Best Actor for his performance in the film Bhonsle.  This was Manoj Bajpayee’s third National Award of his career. In a recent interview, Manoj Bajpayee talked about how he had given up hopes of winning the National Film Award as his earlier performances had been snubbed and went unrecognized.

A few years ago, many people on social media had expressed their disappointment as his performance in the film Aligarh was snubbed at the 64th National Film Awards. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kanan, Manoj Bajpayee said that he didn’t get an award for 3-4 of his earlier performances, post which there was social media outrage. He further said that he thought the National Awards jury was not in the mood to give him an award so he gave up hopes of winning the National Film Award.

He admitted that he felt bad for not winning the award for some of his earlier performances, however, he then decided to focus on work instead of waiting for the award.

Manoj Bajpayee further added that the audience expressed their disappointment on his behalf, and that when they do that, he feels that he doesn’t have to say anything more. He said, “Mujhe lagta hai darshak hi mera kaam kar dete hai. Aur jab woh kar dete hai, then you feel, ‘I don’t have to say anything.’” ALSO READ: Silence Can You Hear It Review: A Tone Deaf Whodunit Starring Manoj Bajpayee And Prachi Desai That Takes Itself Too Seriously
