Ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra, who has by far reshaped Bollywood’s fashion story, is all set to get behind the camera for the very first time. The designer is set to make his directorial debut soon. His upcoming venture is an intense, musical love story, set in the backdrop of the partition. As per a report, the film is backed by Malhotra’s long-time friend and associate, filmmaker-producer Karan Johar’s production company ‘Dharma Productions’. The story of Manish Malhotra’s film is written by the designer himself. The designer will soon begin the casting process.

According to a report in the Hindustan Times, a source revealed, “The story and screenplay of this intense musical love story, set in the backdrop of the partition, is also written by Malhotra. He has already envisioned the entire screenplay ready in his mind and casting for the film will begin shortly.” The source further promised that the film will come with a splash of “grandeur and elegance” just like Malhotra’s designs.

Manish Malhotra has an elaborate career of over 30 years, working and styling in Bollywood films. He ventured into modelling and runway fashion designing in the year 1998. For years, the designer has added his midas touch to over 800 films and is best known for his works in Bollywood, Telugu cinema, Tamil cinema, Hollywood, and the television industry.

In his long illustrious career, Manish Malhotra has designed looks for actors like Late Sridevi, Karisma Kapoor, Kajol, Raveena Tandon, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and many others.
