Mallika Sherawat is popularly known for her stint in 'Murder' where she starred opposite Emraan Hashmi. Notably, in a career spanning two decades, the ravishing actor has given some of the boldest and most incredible performances. In a recent interview, the Ugly Aur Pagli actress reacted to her ‘sex symbol’ image in India.
Mallika Sherawat, while speaking to Hindustan Times, mentioned that the Wikipedia page has stated that she is one of India’s ‘sex symbols’. She was quoted saying, “Mujhe pata bhi nahi likhta kaun hai yeh! Do people take Wikipedia seriously? I don’t. Abhi kya karein, change kaise karein iss image ko. I don’t even know how, I don’t pay attention to it. However people want to perceive me, it’s their attitude. I just have to focus on what I am doing.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Welcome’ actress mentioned that she is not an avid social media user and she doesn't care about her social media game compared to today’s celebrities. In fact, she despises social media. She asserted, “I don’t like social media. I hate it. I am not on the internet, I feel there is so much negativity out there. I don’t want to subject myself to someone else’s opinion of me.”
Interestingly, the ‘Dirty Politics’ actor stated that she is not even ready for PR strategies to be in the news. She even mentioned that she has not been in touch with her PR which has gotten her into a lot of trouble. The ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects’ actress quipped, “What do I say, I am so out of touch with PR and all! I can only speak for myself, I have been a very honest person, and sometimes I have gotten into a lot of trouble because of that. I don’t pay attention to what other actors are doing, or what their PRs are doing.’
The ‘Mayya Mayya’ girl is happy staying away from Bollywood. She juggles between US and India for work.
On the work front, she was last seen in Rajat Kapoor's film RK/RKAY in 2021, which is also her comeback movie in Bollywood.
