Malaika Arora and Shah Rukh Khan starrer song ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ from the film ‘Dil Se’ is one of the most loved and iconic songs of all time. Even after so many years, the peppy number that showed SRK- Arora dancing on the top of a moving train is everyone’s favourite. But did you know while they were shooting this song, Shah Rukh was very worried about Malaika’s safety? Yes, you read that right! The actor feared she “might fly off the train” while dancing. The fitness enthusiast made this surprising revelation in a recent interview.
Speaking with Bollywood Bubble during the promotions of her new show, the 49-year-old actress revealed she and SRK were the only people who were not harnessed while dancing on the train. Malaika revealed the Raees actor insisted that she should be harnessed. Malaika Arora was quoted as saying, “He insisted I should be (harnessed) because he was worried that I might fly off the train.” She then explained that it wouldn’t have been possible to dance with a harness on one part of her body so they decided against it. “It’s difficult to dance, imagine one part of you being harnessed and tied.”

Earlier, Farah Khan had opened up about choreographing and shooting the song on a moving train. She told Bollywood Hungama that they did not get the train beforehand to rehearse so all dancers including SRK climbed on it and started dancing. She even recalled that King Khan wanted to climb on the train’s chimney and they had to pull him down. Khan further revealed fortunately there were no mishaps while shooting the song.
‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ based on Sufi music and Urdu poetry was composed by A.R. Rahman, and was sung by Sukhwinder Singh and Sapna Awasthi.
Meanwhile, Malaika is gearing up for her upcoming reality show ‘Moving in with Malaika’ and is currently busy promoting the same.
