Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit made a name for herself in the Hindi and Marathi film industries with her grace, charm and versatile performances. For more than three decades, she has impressed audiences with her timeless beauty and down-to-earth personality. She recently attended the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) where she was honoured with the ‘Special Recognition for Contribution to Bharatiya Cinema award’. She was left teary-eyed after because of the same. 

As reported by Bollywood Life, the actress was left emotional after she was awarded the title at IFFI 2023. She opened up about her 38 years in the industry and how she had the opportunity to work with wonderful filmmakers. Quoted by the entertainment portal, she said, “I have been in the industry for 38 years. I have worked with some wonderful directors. For me it was like a family. Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur took to his official social media handle to hail praises on the 56-year-old actress and her achievements. He recalled all her characters that went on to become iconic from her timeless classics. A part of his tweet read, “From the effervescent Nisha to the captivating Chandramukhi, the majestic Begum Para to the indomitable Rajjo, her versatility knows no bounds. Today, we are filled with admiration as we present the 'Special Recognition for Contribution to Bharatiya Cinema' Award to the talented , charismatic actress who has redefined excellence in cinema, at the 54th International Film Festival of India.” Netizens too took to the comment section of the social media post to shower the actress with love and admiration. 

On the work front, Madhuri was last in Amazon Prime Video’s Maja Ma in 2022. Directed by Anand Tiwari, the movie also starred Ritwik Bhowmik, Barkha Singh, Gajraj Rao and Sheeba Chaddha in pivotal roles.
