Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu Chopra has opened up about raising her children daughter Priyanka and son Siddharth Chopra. In a recent interview, she revealed how she brought up her kids in a liberal household and gave them an atmosphere to grow up to be confident individuals. Madhu revealed that PeeCee and Siddharth were given three basic rights- the right of thought, right of speech, and the right of expression in their home. However, there were certain rules that they both had to follow.

Speaking with Hauterrfly, Madhu stated that during their younger days, Priyanka and Siddharth were always asked to speak first.  “Even when they were younger, when they came back from school, we used to ask them first about what happened, then we used to discuss it, or advice them. What happened with this was they became confident, they were never scared of speaking, at least in front of their parents. Then it became a part of their nature. They became expressive,” she explained. ALSO READ: Priyanka Chopra's Mom Madhu Chopra Expresses Her Joy On Becoming A Nani; 'I Am Only Smiling All The Time', Adds The Pandit Is Yet To Name The Baby

Madhu Chopra went on to reveal that there were certain limitations that the kids had to follow. “Tantrums were never allowed, raised voices were never allowed, abuse was never allowed. With these things banned, they could express themselves,” she further said.

Meanwhile, Madhu has recently become a grandmother as her daughter Priyanka welcomed her first child this year. In January, Priyanka and her husband Nick Jonas were blessed with their first child, daughter Malti Marie via surrogacy. On Mother’s day, the couple brought their newborn baby girl home after she was kept under observation for 100 days in the NICU.
