Lost Maachis, Sujata And Ganga Ki Lehren Found

Popular filmmaker, archivist, restorer, and director of the Film Heritage Foundation, Shivendra Dungarpur has stumbled upon yet another piece of old cinema. 

He has found a 16 mm print of director Kidar Sharma’s classic Ganga Ki Lehren that toplined Dharmendra, Aruna Irani, Kishore Kumar and Kum Kum.

SpotboyE.com also has it that he has found the lost 16 mm prints of Bimal Roys Sujata and the 35 mm print of Gulzars Maachis.


Dungarpur has already started the restoration work on Maachis, though some portions of the film are missing in the discovered reel. 

A source says, "He also plans to restore Kidar Sharmas 1964-film Ganga Ki Lehren."

Not so long ago, Dungarpur found an Original Camera Negative of Guru Dutt starrer 1963 film Bharosa.
