Om Puri passed away on January 6, 2017 at 66 after a massive cardiac arrest at his residence in Mumbai. Now, the legendary actor is going to make an appearance onscreen for the upcoming film Lashtam Pashtam.

Lashtam Pashtam is based in Dubai and it explores the bond of friendship between two men – an Indian and a Pakistani – who are doubles partners in Tennis. The story attempts to break the stereotype that people in both countries grow up with the thought - our neighbour is our enemy.  Will the friendship between the two be able to bridge the gaps in the hearts of their families? Well, that's what the film is all about.

Today, we bring you some of the most hard-hitting dialogues from the film, which have been mouthed by the legendary Om Puri. Have a look:

In his baritone, Puri brings life to every word he says. Wow!

Yesterday, we even brought you the last interview of Om Puri, which was shot a week before his death.

Speaking about his character from the film, Puri had said, "I play a Pakistani taxi driver. An Indian who is lost in Pakistan and wishes to go to Islamabad, which is burning due to bomb blasts, asks my character to take him there. The taxi driver refuses him but the youngster is so desperate that anyhow he has to go to Islamabad. Though that youngster is an Indian, the taxi driver decides to help him despite knowing that there is lot of risk. They halt in between and he makes the youngster eat but youngster starts doubting the driver’s loyalty that he might have an evil plan at the back of his mind. Eventually in the end, the young Indian fellow is so grateful to this taxi driver, as he opens his eyes by making him understand the importance of a relationship."

Also starring Dolly Ahluwalia, Tisca Chopra, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Samar Vermani, Vaibhav Roy, Ishita Dutta and Feryna Wazheir, Lashtam Pashtam is going to hit theatres this Independence Day.
