Laxmii: Ahead Of Its Release Director Raghav Lawrence Pens A Thank You Note For Akshay Kumar, ‘Normally Actors Won’t Accept Such Roles’

After courting numerous controversies, Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani-led Laxmii, earlier titled as Laxmii Bomb, is set for its release. After much-anticipation, Laxmii will see the night of the day today at 7:05 PM on Disney+Hotstar. While the Bollywood buffs are excited to see Akshay Kumar ruling their TV screens after a break of a few months, film’s music has already made its place in everyone’s playlist. As less than 2 hours are left for the film to stream online, director Raghav Lawrence took to social media and penned ‘Thank you’ note for the leading star. Laxmii is the official Hindi adaption of Tamil Film Kanchana.

Taking to FB, Raghav thanked Akshay Kumar for taking such a huge role which normally other actors don’t do. Raghav, who has also directed Kanchana, revealed that he wanted to convey the pain and struggles of transgenders and since Akshay Kumar is portraying it he hopes that it will reach to a wider audience. Thanks Akshay Kumar he wrote, “My special thanks to Akshay sir for accepting and doing this role.”

He wrote on Facebook, “My special thanks to Akshay sir, Hi friends and fans. My Hindi debut direction movie Laxmi is releasing in #Disneyplushotstar at 7.05 pm today. Through Tamil movie, Kanchana I wanted to convey the pain and struggles of transgender’s and the movie received a lot of appreciation from transgender’s community and the public. Similarly, When Akshay sir is acting in it’s Hindi remake, I hope the message will reach a wider audience.”
