Bollywood music composer-singer, Wajid Khan passed away in June last year. Almost some months after his sad demise, the late singer’s wife Kamalrukh Khan shared a long penned note in the public domain, talking about her experience being in an inter-caste marriage. In her note, Kamalrukh opened up about being pressurized to convert to Islam and fighting for her late husband’s inheritance. On Friday, Wajid Khan’s wife made a post and thanked the Bombay High Court for safeguarding her late husband’s assets.
On Instagram, Kamalrukh Khan shared a picture of the order by the High Court. She shared the copy and wrote, “Finally the wheel of justice starts rolling.” The mother to two expressed her joy after the High Court order and said that the ‘wheel of justice’ has started rolling. Kamalrukh continued, “The hon.High Court ensures that Wajid's assets are safeguarded and instructs his family to disclose all assets. One step closer to getting my children their inheritance. Gratitude to the hon.High Court, Zubin Behramkamdin & Bahraiz Irani. #justice #gratitude” Late Wajid Khan’s wife revealed that in its order, the High Court has ensured that the singer’s assets are safeguarded. She shared that the HC has also instructed Wajid Khan’s family to disclose all his assets.

Meanwhile, in the long note shared by Kamalrukh Khan, she explained her situation after Wajid Khan’s demise. Her note read, "Now when what is due to his kids is being taken away, I feel compelled to speak out. Life has brought me to a point where I need to fight for my children's due inheritance as his family has usurped his assets post Wajid's death.” She opened up about her separation from the late singer and mentioned she is both father and mother to them in practical matters. Khan said that she has to pay for the education and upkeep of her 16-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son. She mentioned her primary source of earning was the singer’s marital support. Khan further explained that she needs to fight back so that her children’s inheritance is not snatched away from them, on unfair grounds.
