Late Wajid Khan's Mother Tests Positive For COVID-19 After Composer's BMC Death Certificate Cites Coronavirus As Reason Of Demise - Reports

While everyone's yet to recover from Wajid Khan's unfortunate demise, it is now being reported that just like him, his mother Razina Khan, too, has tested positive for Coronavirus. As per TOI, she had already contracted the virus before Wajid as she came in contact with one of the COVID-19 patients at the hospital. Razina Khan is currently covering. The news of Wajid's passing away, on the other hand, was first revealed by Sonu Nigam. The singer had several health complications. It was being speculated that Wajid Khan passed away due to cardiac arrest. However, as per ABP News, Wajid succumbed to COVID-19 and kidney failure. The news portal reveals getting a glimpse of the musician's death certificate issued by the BMC. 

According to the report in ABP, Wajid Khan's death certificate clearly mentions Coronavirus and renal, that is, kidney failure as the reason behind his death, at Mumbai's Surana Sethia Hospital. The time of his death, in the certificate, is 1 AM of June 1. It adds how the singer's health only deteriorated in the past three to four days, because of which he was placed in a ventilator. Times Of India, too, mentions kidney failure as the reason behind Wajid Khan's demise. As per them, Khan was admitted to the hospital around two to three months ago due to a kidney and throat infection.

Popular music composer and Wajid's close friend Salim Merchant, in an interview with PTI, had revealed, "He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection... He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical."


Salman Khan, who had launched Wajid in Bollywood and was the last person to collaborate with him, mourned the music composer's death by tweeting, "Wajid Vil always love, respect, remember n miss u as a person n ur talent, Love u n may your beautiful soul rest in peace ..." The two shared a great bond and Wajid used to call him his brother, godfather.
