Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has risen to success in the Hindi entertainment industry with his versatile performances. From romance, comedy to action he knows how to keep his fans entertained. Over the years, he has also been vocal about his love for India and has always cheered for its success. On Sunday evening he took to his official social media handle to call out the leading public figures of the island nation of Maldives for making derogatory comments against India and its beach tourism.
Taking to his official X (formerly known as Twitter) handle, the 56-year-old actor shared screenshots of the tweets made by the ministers of Maldives. Condemning their thought process he questioned why Indians should tolerate unprovoked hate, despite being good neighbours. He urged others to focus on Indian islands more. He wrote, “Came across comments from prominent public figures from Maldives passing hateful and racist comments on Indians. Surprised that they are doing this to a country that sends them the maximum number of tourists. We are good to our neighbors but why should we tolerate such unprovoked hate? I've visited the Maldives many times and always praised it, but dignity first. Let us decide to #ExploreIndianIslands and support our own tourism.”
