Comedian Kunal Kamra is receiving a huge backlash on social media for posting a spoof of the song a boy sang for Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Berlin. The 7-year-old little boy sang the song ‘Hey Janmabhoomi Bharat’ for PM Modi, who stood with a hand on his shoulder to encourage him. The video of the same had gone viral on social media with the internet lauding the boy’s performance for PM. However, Kamra replaced the patriotic song with ‘Mehengayi daayan khaaye jaat hain’ from the 2010 movie ‘Peepli Live’.
Following this spoof, Kunal got slammed for tweeting a "doctored" video of a boy singing a patriotic song. The boy’s father Ganesh Pol slammed Kunal Kamra for dragging his little boy into politics. He condemned the comedian by asking him ‘work on his poor jokes’. The father of the boy tweeted, “He is my 7 year old son, who wanted to sing this song for his beloved Motherland . Though he is still very young but certainly he loves his country more than you Mr. Kamra or Kachra watever u are. Keep the poor boy out of your filthy politics & try to work on your poor jokes.”
Post receiving backlash, Kunal Kamra has now deleted the video. Meanwhile, his post has sparked a huge controversy with National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) seeking action against the comedian. The child rights body had written to Twitter and the Delhi Police to take down the tweet and to take action against Kunal Kamra.
