KriArj Entertainment Pvt Ltd's director Prernaa Arora made it to the headlines in 2018 when she was arrested by police post a complaint filed by film financier Vashu Bhagnani and Pooja Entertainment. She had signed a bond with them that they will be the ones to hold the release rights of films like Kedarnath and PadMan. However, it was reported that Prernaa signed similar contracts with other parties leading to a conflict. She was then released in September 2019 as she agreed to pay the pending amount to the creditors. Now, the latest reports suggest that the Bombay High Court has sentenced her to six months in jail for not following orders.

As reported by Mumbai Mirror, Prernaa has failed to follow the 'process of law' and has been found guilty as she failed to pay the November due to creditors. The producer had to pay one crore out of promised three crores to the creditors in the month of November, but she failed to do so. Stating that Prernaa "neither has any regard for the process of law nor for the orders of the court", the judge further stated that "there is absolutely no remorse."

As per the report, Prernaa Arora was asked to surrender on March 2, however, now the date has been pushed to March 23 as she submitted an unconditional apology. Apart from that, she also submitted Rupees 15 lakh to the court and the title of her Mira Road flat. The case was filed against Prernaa by Gothic Entertainment Pvt Ltd whom the lady owed Rs 17 crore and she had to pay the final instalment in March 2019. Then the company reached High Court as there were many defaults in the payment. She had managed to pay Rs 14.5 crore, and then the parties came to a settlement of Rs 3 crore which Prernaa promised to pay and was granted bail.

Further, it has been reported that Prernaa did not disclose her assets despite the court's orders. It was only in February that she revealed information on her properties and more. On this, the judge noted, "Having persistently breached the orders of this court, an affidavit being thrown at the court at the last minute would not suffice."
