After garnering much appreciation in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Kabir Singh, which was a Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy, fans of Shahid Kapoor was waiting for the actor to announce his next project soon. Ever since, Karan Johar officially purchased the rights of Arjun Reddy aka Vijay Deverakonda another film, Dear Comrade’s to adapt it in Hindi, many names of Bollywood actors started making headlines, but now it is being reported that the filmmaker has approached Shahid Kapoor to portray him once again on big screen. Yes, that true!

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Shahid Kapoor was approached for the film but the actor declined the offer citing the reason that he doesn’t want to do another Deverakonda remake. For those, who don’t know, Dear Comrade original has flopped. Now, we can’t help and notice Kapoor’s presence at Johar’s place. Yes, it’s the same controversial party that has caught the eye of MLA Manjinder Sirsa.

To buy the official rights of Dear Comrade, it was reported that KJo has shelled out hefty money to secure the rights of the film. A source close to the development had told Bollywood Hungama, “Along with Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani and Vijay Galani were also bidding. But KJo got the rights as he agreed to pay Rs 6 crore. The other producers decided to back out on hearing this figure. Also, KJo has been friends with Vijay and that must have also helped. No remake rights of a South film have ever been sold for such an amount. Not even of commercial and family entertainers like Temper (remade as Simmba) or Muni 2: Kanchana (being remade as Laxmmi Bomb).”
