In a conversation with Film Companion, the filmmaker shared that she has never encountered any trauma in her relationships. Reflecting on the film's themes, she expressed, "A lot of the issues we've addressed resonate because, in some way, we've all lived through them. I've been fortunate to experience only loving relationships, devoid of trauma. The aim was to portray how, within the confines of marriage and socially accepted relationships, one can discover freedom, self-identity, and pursue aspirations. I've personally lived that journey."

Beyond this, Kiran emphasized that she maintains a positive and supportive relationship with her ex-husband, highlighting ongoing support from both her family and former spouse. Simultaneously, even Mr Perfectionist addressed his divorce in a previous interview, expressing enduring love between them. He acknowledged a 'certain change' in their dynamic as husband and wife but clarified that no third party was involved in their separation.
Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao parted ways last year, ending their 15-year-long relationship.
