Bollywood actress Kiara Advani has made a name for herself in the industry with her versatile performances, fashion statements and down-to-earth personality. While she left her fans spell-bound with the movie Satyaprem Ki Katha, she also became a target for trolling. Having tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Sidharth Malhotra in February, earlier this year, netizens questioned her choices of doing some scenes which had a negative impact on her.

In a recent interview with Film Companion, Kiara opened up how for the first time she felt that social media was overbearing and overpowering. Talking about the same, she explained how there was ‘weird negativity going on’ about her doing certain scenes as she had recently gotten married. She went on to express how this kind of thing was new to her and she wasn’t able to brush it off. To have people question her work just because she is a married actor, it really affected her a lot. The 30-year-old actress went on to add that it was her hubby Sidharth who came to her rescue. She revealed that she reads everything written about her online, which is a bad habit. She shared how after the negativity got to her, she didn’t discuss it with her husband because “the minute I talk about it then I am going deeper into it.” While he noticed everything, he decided not to bring it up and make a big deal out of anything. Quoted by Hindustan Times, he told her, “Look there will always be these negative trollers…but if you’re gonna give so much importance to this, be sitting at home and crying and behaving like s**t has hit the roof right now. What's wrong with you? You don't know them. They don't know you. These could be like certain fans who did not like we got married. Just let it be. Why are you getting into it?”

The Shershaah actress went on to express her gratitude that she has someone like Sid, who has wisdom, maturity and experience, for helping her handle the situation. For the unversed, the couple tied the knot on February 7th, 2023 in an intimate ceremony in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. They got close to each other while working for the movie Shershaah, a biopic of Captain Vikram Batra.
