A few days ago, Janhvi Kapoor came up with her ‘quarantine tape’ in which she rambles about the lockdown and shared a montage of some beautiful pictures in the video. Now, after Janhvi, her sister Khushi Kapoor featured in her own quarantine tape, and it gives a glimpse into her world. Khushi got candid and opened up about facing criticism and having self-esteem issues and insecurities stemming from all the hate. She also revealed how she did not look like her mom Sridevi or her sister Janhvi, and people would make fun of her for it, affecting the way she ate and dressed.
The video starts with a video clip from when Khushi Kapoor was an infant, and then goes on to show several stunning pictures of Khushi Kapoor all grown up. Introducing herself in the voiceover, she says, “I don’t think I’m the person I want to be yet but I definitely think I’m growing. It’s so rewarding to see people show so much appreciation towards me when I have not even done anything to deserve it yet. I have the power to make someone else happy, it just makes this all the more worth it.”
Khushi Kapoor then said that she is kind of shy and awkward, and that the hate got to her, especially since she was so young. “I didn’t really know how to handle it, so my self-esteem issues and insecurities stem from that. As a child, it affected the way I saw my parents. I didn’t look like my mom and I didn’t look like my sister, so sometimes, people would point that out and make fun of me. I wasn’t the healthiest about it at some point and it affected the way I would eat and the way I would dress.”
Khushi Kapoor adds that one just has to learn to be okay in their own skin. “I think that the way to deal with it is to say f**k it and put yourself out there and do whatever you feel like doing. I feel like people will appreciate you for it,” she says.
