Vidyut Jammwal and Shivaleeka Oberoi-starrer Khuda Haafiz emerged as a surprise hit last year and its success led to the launch of its sequel Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2, soon after. The sequel is currently on the floors in Lucknow. Chapter one followed the real-life story of a newly-married couple that lose their job due to recession and fall into the trap of human trafficking under the promise of a new job in the Middle-East. The sequel follows the story of the same couple after the husband is able to save his wife.
Coincidentally, Rukhsar is Faruk’s wife as well. Ask him how directing his wife's been like and he says, “Well, on set, she is not my wife. She gets the same treatment that I give to any other actor.” He adds that he actually had to request Rukhsar to play the part and she didn’t agree to it immediately. “She told me bluntly to send her the script, she’ll read it and then decide. I don’t mix my personal and professional lives but for her character, I wanted an actor like her who could understand the psychology of the part. She was the best choice for that role and her name was actually not suggested by me but by someone else in the crew. This part was tailor-made for her,” he concludes.
