It was an epic night as PV Sindhu won the Indian Open Super Series Title. This was her first title at home after she beat Rio Olympic gold medallist Carolina Marin in the final. Interestingly, Sindhu had lost to Marin in Rio last year.
She also won the TOISA badminton player of the year. It was a straight game 21-19, 21-16 win at a packed Siri Fort Sports Complex, New Delhi.
Bollywood stars like Katrina Kaif, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Purab Kohli and others took to social media to congratulate the lady.
Katrina wrote, “Aaaand she won! Congratulations P V Sindhu .... (sic
Shah Rukh Khan, on the other hand, said, “Super performance by @Pvsindhu1. Congratulations and thanks for making us proud (sic).”

Just two days back, the Rio Olympics silver medallist also beat Saina Nehwal (bronze medallist in the London Olympics, is a two-time India Open champion) 21-16, 22-20 in a quarterfinal match of the Indian Open superseries badminton championship.
Last year, PV Sindhu made the nation proud by bagging a silver medal at the Rio Olympics 2016. With that win, Sindhu became the first Indian woman to bag a silver medal in the badminton single and B-Town stars didn’t waste a moment before congratulating Sindhu for her terrific win.
Even Salman Khan too took to Twitter to share his joy about her victory. The Sultan actor had stated that he is feeling “proud” of her win. He even added how he saw the final with his mother and boasted to her about having a picture with Sindhu.
PV Sindhu, here's to many more victories.
