With the number of Coronavirus cases going up with each passing day, and no vaccination for the same, there seems to be a lot of uncertainty. A nationwide lockdown is currently in place, and while most Indian workers are working from home or have taken leaves, doctors, nurses and other health professionals are still working tirelessly. Recently, Shikha Malhotra, who was seen in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Fan, has now returned to her medical profession and Katrina Kaif is all praise for her.
Shikha Malhotra is a qualified nurse but she put that on a backseat to pursue her acting ambitions. But as soon as the pandemic struck, she was all ready to get back to her role as a nurse. She was seen in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Fan in 2016, and she got back to her medical duties to serve the COVID-19 patients, in the wake of Coronavirus pandemic. That is indeed commendable, and Katrina Kaif, in her latest Instagram story has also applauded her and called her a ‘real life hero’.

Shikha Malhotra is serving patients and volunteering at Balasaheb Thackeray Trauma Hospital in Mumbai. In an interview with India Today, she said, "When I heard PM Narendra Modi's address to the nation about the 21-day lockdown, I couldn't sit at home. As someone with a medical background, I realised the situation was serious. I started visiting hospitals in Mumbai from the very next day until I found a government hospital. I was directed to the medical superintendent, who then placed me in the isolation ward for COVID-19 as they were in need of staff.” ALSO READ: Katrina Kaif's Quarantine Looks: Actress Shows How To Look Simply Beautiful At Home!
