Hashtags like #ICantBreathe and #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd have been trending on Twitter ever since the video of an African-American man kneeled by an American cop made its way to the internet. The video of a horrifying incident sees a man named George Floyd breathing his last in Minneapolis, Minnesota when a police offer kneeled his neck for quite some time. The video also sees the onlookers protesting that his life was in danger. In the video, Floyd repeatedly said, “I can’t breathe, I’m about to die.”
Now celebrities from across the globe have taken to social media to demand justice for Geroge Floyd. A while back, Kareena Kapoor Khan took to social media and shared a picture of police force running behind a blind man. The text on the picture reads, “America (from 1968 to 2020) What has changed and what hasn’t.” She wrote in the caption, “#JusticeForGeorgeFloyd with a heartbreaking emoji.”
Sharing a picture of George Floyd Nick Jonas wrote alongside, “Praying for #GeorgeFloyd and his family. A family lost their loved one while pleading for help and the simple act to breathe. This is inexcusable. Text “FLOYD” to 55156 and sign the petition. #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd”
Sorry singer Justin Bieber shared the same video on his IG and wrote, “THIS MUST STOP. this makes me absolutely sick. This makes me angry this man DIED. This makes me sad. Racism is evil We need to use our voice! Please people. I’m sorry GEORGE FLOYD.”
