Weddings in Bollywood often have the power to leave the fans mesmerised with their grandeur. From hosting big lavish ceremonies to having small intimate destination weddings, celebrities often go all out for their special day. From the decor of the venue to their wedding outfits, fans often go gaga over every detail the actors choose for their big day. One wedding that had left everyone speechless was Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan’s in 2012.
Now more than a decade later celebrity photographer Avinash Gowariker has opened up about their iconic wedding portrait that he shot after they had gotten married in an intimate ceremony. During his interview with Mid-Day, he had revealed that wedding photography is altogether a different ball game. Talking about Saif and Bebo, he shared that he didn't cover their entire wedding, as they wanted him to shoot their famous portrait. He added, “They wanted me to do that one portrait because that outfit is the same outfit that Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore had worn and Sharmila ji’s mother-in-law and Mansoor Ali Khan’s father had worn. So it’s the third generation wearing the same outfit and that pose also we recreated.” ALSO READ: WHAT! Gowariker went on to explain that they had requested that they want the same thing. Recalling the exciting experience, he shared that the picture was shot at Taj and the couple carried themselves with grace during the photoshoot.
For the unversed, Saif and Kareena, the couple tied the knot in 2012 and welcomed two adorable sons Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan. Apart from them, Saif has a daughter Sara Ali Khan and son Ibrahim Ali Khan from his first marriage with actress Amrita Singh. On the work front, Kareena Kapoor Khan, who was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha alongside Aamir Khan has movies like The Crew, Hansal Mehta's next, Sujoy Ghosh’s untitled movie based on the Japanese bestseller The Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino in the pipeline.
