Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer
Kabir Singh is making headlines even after three months of its release. While the film went on to become a blockbuster, it faced a lot of criticism by a section of society who did not approve of the way Kabir Singh glorified toxic masculinity. A lot of people criticized the film for its misogyny and a few also shared their views stating that it glorified violence in the name of love. The film crossed Rs 300 crore at the box-office and the criticism did not affect its numbers. Now, Kareena Kapoor Khan has spoken about it in a recent interview and also addressed people’s reaction to the film.
In a recent interview with Filmfare, Kareena Kapoor Khan said that she hasn’t seen the film and that she does not personally believe in a character like that. She said, “I haven’t seen the film. But clearly it hasn’t affected anything because the movie has made over Rs 300 crores. So, it’s a double-edged sword. Because there are people who are actually going to watch it and have found something that they love. Otherwise, it is not possible for it to have done so well.” However, she added that she is happy people are talking about it.
Kareena Kapoor Khan also added that it was very sad that the number of people who voiced their opinions about the film were outnumbered by those who liked it, and that it is a sad reality.
In other news, Arjun Kapoor recently revealed that he was
considered for the lead role of Kabir Singh when the rights were being acquired by the producers. However, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had committed to Shahid Kapoor, so Arjun backed out to avoid any ego tussle.
