Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s wedding was the grandest event of the year and it was buzzing with appearances of celebs and famous personalities. All dressed in their fashionable best, donning outfits of their favourite designers. Some stood out looking absolutely gorgeous while few fell flat on the fashion meter.
Sonakshi Sinha missed the Ambani wedding but she won everyone’s heart by appearing at the Reception party last night. Sonakshi looked stunning in a bedazzled sheer saree by Manish Malhotra paired with a sexy shimmer blouse and a silver clutch. Sadly, we have seen this saree not once but twice before! Yes, a slightly different version of the saree was worn by Kareena Kapoor Khan at an award function back in 2012. Kareena gave it a twist by wearing a long sleeved blouse. Later, Deepika Padukone wore the same saree but with a broader border and chunky earrings at an IPL event in 2014.
If this isn’t enough we had even reported an uncanny similarity between Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Gauri Khan’s outfit at the Ambani wedding. Gauri wore the silver drape with minimal jewellery, while our beloved desi girl turned up in a semi-sheer silver creation with flowery sequins all over it.
Usually our B-town divas always have their fashion game on point, but when they wear similar outfits for big events it often comes in the public eye. We wonder what their designer Manish Malhotra has to say to this after churning out the third version of the same saree over the last 7 years.
