The Battle Of
Saragarhi took place in 1897 and now more than a century later, Bollywood is
ready to fight it out over the celluloid version of the famous conflict.
Karan Johar created a frenzy online when he announced yesterday that he is
joining hands with Salman Khan to produce a film starring Akshay Kumar.

The Bollywood
grapevine suggests that the film will be based on the historical Battle of
Saragarhi.
Buzz is, Akshay
will play Havaldar Ishar Singh, the military commander of 21 Sikh
soldiers, who famously led his men through a deathly battle against
thousands of Afghani invaders.
But here is the
twist, this is not the only film being made on the subject.
After the clash
of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay, Karan Johar and Ajay look set for another
face-off.

In July 2016,
Ajay had announced that the sequel to his 2013 release, Son of Sardaar will be
a film titled Sons Of Sardar: Battle Of Saragarhi.
And Ajay and
Akshay are not the only heroes in the fray. Rajkumar Santoshi too is making a
film on the subject, starring Randeep Hooda.
Karan had already
announced that his film will hit theatres in 2018. The other two projects do
not have a release date yet.
It the filmmakers
do not sort out their issues, moviegoers may have a spate of films, all on the
same subject, hitting the big screen in quick succession.
The big question
is: Who will win this battle?
